Standard industrial Modbus TCP/RTU/ASCII network integration
PLANET https://planet.com.tw/en/product/img-2100t PLANET, Inc. has added the Industrial Modbus TCP/IP protocol to its easy-to-integrate industrial management-level products, which are supplied with SCADA/HMI systems and other factory-floor data acquisition systems. Furthermore, the Industrial IT SNMP network is being upgraded to the Modbus TCP/IP network for industrial automation. PLANET industrial management-level products with the Modbus TCP/IP protocol offer flexible network connectivity solutions for the industrial automation environment.
To complete its industrial automation application solution, PLANET has announced its first industrial-grade 1-port RS232/422/485 Modbus Gateway, the IMG-2100T. This bridge converts between the Modbus TCP/IP protocol and the Modbus RTU/ASCII protocol. It features a wide operating temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees C and a compact yet rugged IP30 metal housing.
Other similar products include the IMG-2102TS, IGM-2105AT, IMG-2200T and the IMG-2400T

A conversion bridge for flexible network deployment
The IMG-2100T can serve as a conversion bridge between equipment using the Modbus RTU/ASCII protocol and administrator workstations using the Modbus TCP/IP protocol. The IMG-232T's RS422/485/2100 serial interface provides Modbus RTU/ASCII operating mode and various baud rate options to meet the need for integration between the Modbus TCP/IP protocol, Modbus RTU Master/Slave protocol, and Modbus ASCII Master/Slave protocol.

The advantage of the IMG-2100T is that it helps users easily build an industrial environment between the Modbus TCP/IP protocol and the Modbus RTU/ASCII protocol, providing an application solution for industrial control equipment without Ethernet ports, where the equipment can only be controlled via an industrial PC workstation or industrial control panel.
In addition, the effective integration solution of Modbus Ethernet devices, Modbus serial equipment or multi Modbus master/slave in an industrial hybrid network brings the following:
- Master mode supports up to 32 TCP slave connection requests
- Slave mode supports up to 32 TCP master connections
remote management
The IMG-2100T transforms connected industrial Modbus RTU/ASCII equipment into IP-based devices and can connect to the Modbus TCP/IP network via the RS232/422/485 serial interface and 10/100BASE-TX RJ45 Ethernet port. It offers remote web management and a Telnet interface for efficient remote network management. The IMG-2100T also provides a PLANET Modbus Gateway utility and supports the PLANET Smart Discovery utility, helping network administrators easily obtain the current IP subnet address information or change the IP subnet address setting of the IMG-2100T.

Modbus serial port status monitoring
The IMG-2100T displays the details of the total number of bytes sent and received on the RS232/422/485 serial interface, and the detailed total number of frames sent and received on the external Web/Telnet management interface. This feature allows the network administrator to monitor the status and statistics of the IMG-2100T via the single RS232/422/485 serial interface.
Stable performance in harsh environmental design
The IMG-2100T offers a high degree of immunity to electromagnetic interference and large power surges typically found on factory floors or in curbside traffic control cabinets. With an operating temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees Celsius, the IMG-2100T can be installed in almost any challenging environment.
The IMG-2100T features a compact metal enclosure with an IP30 rating, allowing for wall mounting for efficient use of cabinet space. The IMG-2100T also offers an integrated, wide-voltage power supply (9 to 48 V DC / 24 V AC), ideally suited for global use in high-availability applications.
Dual power input for high-availability network system
The IMG-2100T features a robust dual power supply system with wide voltages (9V ~ 48V DC / 24V AC) integrated into the customer's automation network to enhance system reliability and uptime. In the example below, when Power Supply 1 fails, the hardware failover function automatically activates to continue supplying power to the IMG-2100T via Power Supply 2 without any interruption to operation.
