The MGB family consists of Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules specifically designed for a high-performance, integrated duplex data link over single-mode optical fiber. These transceiver modules are SFP Multisource Agreement (MSA) compliant and hot-pluggable. These modules offer easy installation in SFP MSA-compliant ports at any time without interrupting host equipment.
The MGB-Txxx versions are industrial versions that are more suitable for use in industrial switches because the temperature range of the GBic is greater, i.e. -40 – +75 degrees Celsius.
The MGB family of SFP Mini-GBIC Ethernet modules can be installed in Planet Switch products with an SFP Mini-GBIC interface. The deployment distance can be extended from 100 meters (TP), 550 meters (multi-mode), and up to 120 kilometers (single-mode, LC).
To meet the growing demands for industrial Ethernet fiber solutions, Planet has launched the MGB-T series 1000Base-SX/LX transceivers, capable of operating in electrically demanding, climatically challenging, and wide-temperature environments (-40°C to 75°C). The MGB-T series 1000Base-SX/LX transceivers offer simple and fast 1000Base-SX/LX connectivity to Planet's very wide temperature range of industrial equipment.
The MGB family of SFP Gigabit Ethernet modules can be installed in Planet switches and media converters with 1000Base-SX/LX SFP interfaces. The deployment distance can be extended from 550 meters (multi-mode) to 120 kilometers (single-mode, LC).
The SFP transceivers are hot-pluggable and hot-swappable. You can plug the transceivers into and remove them from the SFP ports without first disconnecting power to the Switch/Media Converters.
The MGB-T series 1000Base-SX/LX transceivers are an ideal solution for wide-temperature industrial equipment with 1000Base-SX/LX interfaces. Their operating distance can be extended from 550 meters (multi-mode) to 120 kilometers (single-mode, LC).
