De unit is ontworpen om geinstalleerd te worden in zware industieel veeleisende omgevingen, de IGS-4215-16T2S is het nieuwste lid van de Planet industriele, L2/L4 Managed Gigabit Switch familie, bedoeld om de beschikbaarheid van kritische zakelijke toepassingen te verbeteren. Deze Switch biedt IPv6/IPv4 dual stack management en ingebouwde L2/L4 Gigabit switching engine met 16 10/100/1000BASE-T poorten, 2 extra 100/1000BASE-X SFP glasvezel slots voor data en video uplink. De IGS-4215-16T2S is in staat om betrouwbaar, stabiel en stil te functioneren in elke zware omgeving zonder dat de prestaties verslechteren. De unit heeft een temperatuurbereik van -40 tot 75 graden C in een robuuste IP30 metalen behuizing.

Ontwerp voor Zware Omgevingen

Met de industriele IP30 behuizing levert de IGS-4215-16T2S een hoge bescherming tegen elektrotechnische interferentie en zware elektrische pieken die vaak voorkomen in productie omgevingen of bij controle kasten zonder air conditioning aan de kant van de weg. Doordat de unit prima kan functioneren binnen een temperatuurrange van -40 tot 75 graden C, kan de IGS-4215-16T2S in bijna elke zware omgeving geplaatst wroden.

Robuuste Bescherming

De IGS-4215-16T2S biedt contact ontlading van ±6KV DC en lucht ontlading van ±8KV DC voor Ethernet ESD bescherming. De unit ondersteunt tevens ±4KV piek immuniteit om zo de product stabiliteit te verbeteren en de netwerken van de gebruikers te beschermen tegen vernietigende ESD aanvallen, er zo voor zorgend dat de bedrijfsvoering niet fluctueert.

De IGS-4215-16T2S kan worden geprogrammeerd voor geavandeerde switch management functies zoals dynamic port link aggregation, 802.1Q VLAN, Q-in-Q VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), loop en BPDU guard, IGMP snooping, en MLD snooping. Via de link aggregation, maakt de IGS-4215-16T2S de werking mogelijk om een high-speed trunk te combineren met meerdere poorten zoals een 8Gbps fat pipe, en ondersteunt dan ook fail-over. Ook is de Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) het Layer 2 protocol dat in included om te helpen basis informatie te vinden over de systemen in de buurt in het local broadcast domein.

PLANET IGS-4215-16T2S offers comprehensive IPv4/IPv6 Layer 2 to Layer 4 Access Control List (ACL) for enforcing security to the edge. It can be used to restrict network access by denying packets based on source and destination IP address, TCP/UDP ports or defined typical network applications. Its protection mechanism also comprises 802.1X port-based user and device authentication, which can be deployed with RADIUS to ensure the port level security and block illegal users. With the Protected Port function, communication between edge ports can be prevented to guarantee user privacy. Furthermore, Port Security function allows limiting the number of network devices on a given port.

Advanced Network Security 

The IGS-4215-16T2S also provides DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection functions to prevent IP snooping from attack and discard ARP packets with invalid MAC address. The distance can be extended from 550 meters to 2 kilometers (multi-mode fiber) and up to 120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber). They are well suited for applications within the enterprise data centers and distributions.

Intelligent SFP Diagnosis Mechanism

The IGS-4215-16T2S supports SFP-DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) function that can easily monitor real-time parameters of the SFP for the network administrator, such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
