Planet FSD-1008HP

Flexible, Expandable and Centralized Power Distribution

The PLANET FSD-1008HP offers eight 10/100TX ports with 30-watt 802.3at PoE+, a total power budget of 120-watt PoE, and two additional uplink ports to meet the need for sufficient PoE power for HD IP security and Wi-Fi systems on small-scale, high-performance networks. With the same desktop footprint and compact metal housing, it makes the switch easy to install. It also enables quick and easy PoE PD deployment with power feeding.

Ethernet Data Transmission Extension

The built-in solid-state DIP switch offers "Standard," "VLAN," and "Extend" operating modes. The FSD-1008HP operates as a standard IEEE 802.3at PoE+ switch in "Standard" operating mode.

The “VLAN” operating mode is equipped with a port-based VLAN function that helps prevent the multicast or broadcast storm of the IP cameras from affecting each other.

In “Extended” mode, the FSD-1008HP operates at 10Mbps duplex on a per-port basis, but supports 30 watts of PoE power output over a distance of up to 250 meters, exceeding the 100-meter limit on Ethernet UTP cable. With this brand-new feature, the FSD-1008HP offers a complementary solution for 802.3at PoE+ distance extension, saving the cost of Ethernet cable installation. Furthermore, its VLAN isolation function isolates each port to prevent broadcast storms and defend against DHCP spoofing in “Extend” mode.

Environmentally friendly, fanless design for silent operation

The FSD-1008HP comes in a desktop-sized, compact metal housing, making placement of the unit convenient. Its ventilated design eliminates the need for a cooling fan, resulting in silent operation. Furthermore, the FSD-1008HP can operate reliably and stably in any environment without compromising performance. Implementing PoE PDs with constant power supply is quick and easy.

Simple Cable Connection

With data and power over Ethernet from a single unit, the FSD-1008HP reduces cabling requirements and eliminates the need for dedicated electrical outlets on walls, ceilings, or inaccessible locations. A single cable carrying both data and power can reduce installation costs, simplify installation, and eliminate the need for electricians or extension cords. With eight PoE interfaces, the FSD-8HP is ideal for small businesses and workgroups requiring the deployment of PoE-enabled devices, including wireless access points, IP-based surveillance cameras, and IP phones, anywhere with ease, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
