These Planet Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switches are suitable for use in the most aggressive environments. The enclosures of the managed industrial Ethernet switches are specially designed to withstand these harsh environments, including moisture, temperature, dust, water, and other conditions. The switches can withstand temperatures of up to -40 and +75 degrees Celsius and can even operate submerged in water (depending on the type). The switches in this category are DIN-rail switches, meaning they can be easily installed in enclosures with a DIN-rail. The switches are typically powered by a DC power supply. Because the DC power supply provides a direct DC voltage, it's very easy to create a dual power supply and thus achieve redundancy. Many of the unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches are also equipped with one or more SFP ports, allowing for a direct connection to the fiber optic network.
