Quick and Easy Gigabit Ultra PoE Network Installation
The PLANET POE-172S Gigabit ultra Power over Ethernet splitter, compliant with the IEEE 802.3at/af standard and 802.3bt-ready, delivers Ethernet digital data and PoE power over twisted-pair cables to network devices. The unit splits the digital data and power to three optional outputs. (12V/19V/24V DC) and supports a transmission distance of up to 100 meters.
When working with PLANET 172bt Ultra PoE switches or injectors, the POE-802.3S provides more PoE applications to client devices, such as:
- PoE PTZ speed dome camera
- Thin client
- AIO (All-in-One) touch PC
- Remote digital signage display
- Network devices that require higher PoE power to function
The POE-172S frees network equipment installation from the constraints of electrical outlets, saving the cost of additional AC cabling and installation hours.
Innovative, Selectable DC Power Output Voltage
Using the innovative 12V/19V/24V DIP switch on the front, the POE-172S can supply 24V DC power to industrial equipment or 12V/19V DC output to standard network equipment. This significantly increases the flexibility of the product's applications.
Ultra PoE Power over 4-pair UTP Cable
The POE-172S and 802.3bt Ultra PoE switches use IEEE 802.3bt/at/af standard-compliant cabling. Instead of delivering power over 2-pair twisted UTP cable—either end-span (pins 1, 2, 3, and 6) or mid-span (pins 4, 5, 7, and 8)—they transmit Ultra PoE power and data using all four pairs of standard Cat5e/6 Ethernet cabling.
Environmentally friendly
The POE-172S has a compact metal housing, making it easy to install. The housing is designed so that a fan is not required, ensuring silent operation. The constant-power POE-172 power supply allows for quick and easy connection to non-PoE devices.

Ultra PoE Splitter and Injector Installation
Where a power outlet is difficult to find, the POE-172S and PLANET 802.3bt Ultra PoE switches or injectors function as a pair to provide a simple way to power Ethernet devices. The POE-172S splits digital data and power to three optional outputs (12V/19V/24V DC) for non-PoE devices such as laptops, PTZ speed dome cameras, color touchscreen IP phones, multi-channel wireless LAN access points, and other network devices over a distance of up to 100 meters.
