Since the Planet GUP-805A-60W Media Converter uses the IEEE 802.bt PoE++ standard technology, it is capable of delivering up to 60 watts of power by using all four pairs of standard Cat5e/6 Ethernet cabling to supply both power and full speed data to any external PoE-compatible device (PD). Its power capabilities are three times greater than those of conventional 802.3at PoE+, making it an ideal solution for those network PDs that consume a lot of power, such as:
