High Power PoE for Security and Public Sector Applications
To meet the demand for High Power PoE for network applications, the IGS-624HPT is equipped with 4 10/100/1000Mbps ports which support both IEEE 802.3af and IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE +) Delivering up to 30 watts of power output and data transfer per port over a Cat. 5E/6 Ethernet cable. With a total PoE output of 120 watts, the IGS-624HPT is specifically designed to meet the growing demand for higher power output from PDs (Powered Devices), such as PTZ (Pan, Tilt & Zoom) / Speed Dome network cameras, multi-channel (802.11a/b/g/n) outdoor wireless LAN access points, and other PoE network devices, by delivering double the power of conventional 802.3af PoE.
Intelligent LED Indicator for Real-time PoE Consumption
The Planet IGS-624HPT helps users monitor the status of PoE consumption in a simple and efficient way by utilizing its advanced LED indicators, called PoE Power Usage, the front panel of the Industrial Gigabit PoE+ Switch has four orange LEDs that 30W, 60W, 90W and 120W indicate PoE power consumption.
Fit and Reliable Power System
To enable 802.3at High Power PoE operation with common 48V DC power input in transportation and industrial applications, the IGS-624HPT is equipped with 48V DC to 52V DC power boost technology To address power source issues and achieve the High Power PoE+ output level, the IGS-624HPT is equipped with two DC power input connectors for redundant power supply installations.
High Power Budget for PoE Extension
With 30-watt PoE output, the IGS-624HPT can operate at much greater distances by using PLANET PoE Extenders to power IEEE 802.3af PoE PD systems, which can be installed at distances of over 100 meters. By daisy-chaining multiple PLANET PoE Extenders, the switch offers great flexibility in doubling, tripling, or quadrupling the distance of a PoE network.
Hardened design for harsh environmental conditions
The IGS-624HPT is equipped with a rugged IP30 metal housing, making it easy to deploy in harsh industrial environments. With its IP30 industrial-grade protective housing, the IGS-624HPT is shielded from electromagnetic interference and large electrical surges often encountered on factory floors or in roadside traffic cabinets. Because the IGS-624HPT can operate in an ambient temperature range of -40 to 75 degrees Celsius, it can be deployed in challenging environments. The IGS-624HPT can be DIN-rail or wall-mounted for space-saving installation.
Fiber-Optical Link Option Extends Network Deployment Distance
The two SFP slots are compatible with 100Base-FX or 1000Base-SX/LX/WDM via SFP (Small Form Factor Pluggable) fiber-optic transceivers. The fiber-optic uplink capability guarantees throughput to all nodes connected in the network, and the Gigabit Ethernet distance can be extended from 550 meters (multi-mode fiber cable) to as much as 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 70, or 120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber).
Adjustable 6-Port Switch Mode or 4+2 Fiber Redundant Mode
Using the built-in DIP switch, the Planet IGS-624HPT can be configured as a 6-port Ethernet switch or a 4+2 fiber redundant switch. In 6-port switch mode, the IGS-624HPT can operate in a high-performance "store-and-forward" mechanism; in 4+2 fiber redundant mode, it provides a fast fiber redundancy link for highly critical Ethernet applications. Redundant mode also supports auto-recovery. If the destination port of a packet link is down, the packet is forwarded to the other port of the backup pair.
