Centralized Power Management for Gigabit Ethernet PoE Networks
To facilitate 32W PoE power network applications with Gigabit speed transmission, the Planet GSD-2022P PoE switch is equipped with 16 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 additional Gigabit TP ports, and 2 1000BASE-X SFP interfaces with the internal power system. With a total PoE budget of 185 watts, it offers high-performance Gigabit IEEE 802.3af PoE (up to 15,4W) and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ (up to 32W) capabilities on all ports.
By offering reliable switching technology and advanced networking features, the GSD-2022P optimizes the installation and management of power for network devices such as wireless access points, VoIP phones, and security cameras. It also eliminates deployment time and costs by integrating power and data switching into a single unit, freeing network devices from the constraints of electrical outlet locations and additional AC wiring.

Perfectly Integrated Solution for PoE IP Surveillance
The GSD-2022P offers you an ideal security system at a lower total cost. The GSD-2022P features 16 10/100/1000 Mbps 802.3at PoE+ ports, which can supply sufficient PoE power to 16 IEEE 802.3af/IEEE 802.3at PoE+ IP cameras simultaneously. It can also connect to a 16-channel NVR or two 8-channel NVRs, uplinking to the backbone switch and monitoring center. With this high-performance switch architecture, recorded video files from PoE IP cameras can be stored in the NVR system, where the administrator can monitor surveillance footage both on the local LAN and at remote locations.

Extending the Distance for Ethernet Data Transfer
The DIP switch provides the operating modes “Standard”, “VLAN” and “Expand”.
- The Planet GSD-2022P PoE Switch functions as a normal IEEE 802.3at PoE+ switch in “Standard” operating mode.
- The “VLAN” operating mode features a port-based VLAN function that helps prevent the multicast or broadcast storm of the IP cameras from affecting each other.
- In “Extend” operation mode, the GSD-2022P operates on a per-port basis at 10 Mbps duplex operation, but supports 20 watts of PoE power output over a distance of up to 250 meters, overcoming the 100 meter limit on Ethernet UTP cable.
With this brand new feature, the GSD-2022P provides a complementary solution for 802.3at PoE+ distance extension, saving the cost of Ethernet cable installation.

Active Power Device Control
The GSD-2022P not only utilizes Power over Ethernet technology, but also features automated Powered Device (PD) monitoring and real-time PoE status.
The active PD monitoring function applies to Standard, VLAN, and Extend modes. After a port's PoE is enabled, the device begins detecting whether the port is transmitting data. If the port is not transmitting data for a certain period of time, PoE automatically disables and then re-enables. This significantly improves network reliability, as the PoE port resets the PD power, reducing the administrative burden.
Flexible Expansion Solution
The two mini-GBIC slots built into the GSD-2022P are compatible with 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber optic transceivers, uplinks to backbone switches, and long-distance monitoring centers. Distances can be extended from 550 meters (multimode fiber) to 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber). They are well-suited for applications in data centers and enterprise distribution networks.
